# How Patients Access the Patient Portal

## Overview

Patients access the Patient Portal through multiple entry points, all designed to guide them directly into the quiz experience.

## Entry Points

### 1. Branded Subdomain

`yourdomain.skintype.pro`

### 2. Direct Link (Email or Text)

You can send patients a direct link prior to their visit.

### 3. QR Code (In-Office)

Patients can scan a QR code in your waiting room.

All three methods send patients directly to the quiz via the portal.

## Account Creation vs Guest Experience

### Create an Account (Recommended)

Patients enter:

* email
* password

This allows them to:

* save their results
* access their routine later
* return to purchase products
* track usage and reorder

### Continue as a Guest (Not Recommended)

Patients can complete the quiz without creating an account. Guest results are only visible during that session and are no longer accessible after leaving the quiz results screen.

## Email-Only Entry

If a patient at least enters an email, they can still create an account later.

## Why It Matters

Encouraging account creation ensures:

* patients can return to their routine
* long-term compliance is possible
* repeat purchasing is enabled
