The Perfect Consult → Sale Flow

The most successful providers follow a simple structure during every consultation.

This ensures:

  • A consistent patient experience

  • Higher product conversion rates

  • Better long-term results

The 3-Part Consult Flow

Every consult should follow this sequence:

  1. Explain the patient’s skin type

  2. Walk through their personalized routine

  3. Guide them to purchase

💡 When done correctly, this feels natural - not like a sales pitch.

Step 1: Explain the Skin Type

Start by reviewing the patient’s Baumann Skin Type.

Focus on:

  • What it means

  • Why it matters

  • How it affects their skin

Example Language

“Your results show that you have a DSNW skin type, which means your skin tends to be dry and sensitive, and more prone to wrinkles.”

“You may notice things like dryness, irritation, or fine lines developing earlier if not treated properly.”

💡 This builds trust and positions you as the expert.

Step 2: Walk Through the Routine

Next, walk the patient through their personalized skincare routine.

Focus on:

  • The structure (morning & evening)

  • The role of each product

  • How everything works together

How to Explain It

“This routine is designed specifically for your skin type.”

“Each product has a purpose - cleanser, treatment, moisturizer, and protection - to address your specific concerns.”

💡 The system is built on a structured regimen using clinically defined product roles (cleanser, treatment, moisturizer, SPF, etc.), ensuring nothing is missing.

Step 3: Highlight Key Products

You don’t need to explain every product in detail.

Instead, highlight:

  • 2–3 key products

  • The biggest benefits

  • What problems they solve

Example Language

“This product is going to help reduce inflammation and strengthen your skin barrier.”

“This one targets early signs of aging and helps improve skin texture over time.”

💡 Keep it simple and benefit-focused.

Step 4: Transition to Purchase

Once the patient understands the routine, guide them to the next step.

Natural Transition

“The best way to see results is to follow this routine consistently.”

“I’ll make it easy for you to get everything you need.”

💡 This removes friction and makes the decision feel obvious.

Step 5: Present Purchase Options

Give the patient clear options:

Option 1: In-Office

“We have some of these products available here today.”

“I’ll send you a link so you can view your routine and check out directly.”

Then:

  • Click the QR Code button

  • Have them scan or open the link

💡 Online checkout allows you to offer a full regimen without inventory limitations.

Step 6: Reinforce the Outcome

End by reinforcing the value of consistency.

Example Language

“These products are designed to work together, so following the full routine will give you the best results.”

“Most patients start to see improvements within a few weeks when they stay consistent.”

💡 This increases both conversion and repeat purchases.

🔁 The Formula to Remember

Every consult should follow this:

Explain → Guide → Recommend → Close

🔥 Why This Works

This approach works because it:

  • Builds trust before selling

  • Makes the routine feel personalized and necessary

  • Removes decision fatigue

  • Creates a clear path to purchase

⚡ Pro Tips

  • Keep the consult conversational, not scripted

  • Focus on outcomes, not ingredients

  • Don’t overwhelm the patient with too much detail

  • Always guide them to the next step
