# Assigning Products

### Assigning Products

Assigning products allows you to choose which products are used in your patients’ skincare routines.

This is where you customize Skin Type PRO to match your practice, your preferred brands, and your sales strategy.

***

### How It Works

Skin Type PRO organizes skincare routines by **indications** (product roles), such as:

* Cleanser
* Moisturizer
* Treatment products
* SPF

For each indication, you can select your preferred product from a list of options.

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 Only products that meet the clinical requirements for that indication are available to choose from.
{% endhint %}

***

### What This Means

* Every product option is pre-qualified
* Every routine remains clinically accurate
* You are choosing the **preferred option**, not building from scratch

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 The system ensures accuracy—you control the selection.
{% endhint %}

***

### How to Assign Products

***

#### Step 1: Navigate to Assign Products

Access the Assign Products section from your dashboard

***

#### Step 2: Review Each Indication

You’ll see a list of 30+ indications (product categories)

***

#### Step 3: Select Your Preferred Product

For each indication, choose the product you want used in routines

***

#### Step 4: Repeat Across Categories

Complete your selections across all relevant indications

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 Once complete, all generated routines will use your assigned products.
{% endhint %}

***

### Recommended Approach: Start with Default Assignments

Skin Type PRO comes pre-configured with optimized product assignments across all indications.

For most providers, the best approach is to:

* Use the default assignments
* Make small adjustments where needed

***

#### Why the Defaults Work

The default product selections are:

* Based on clinical indication requirements
* Optimized across all available products
* Aligned with top-performing and best-selling products

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 These selections are designed to maximize both patient outcomes and conversion.
{% endhint %}

***

#### When to Make Adjustments

You may want to update specific indications if:

* You prefer a specific brand
* You want a product available in-office instead of shipped
* You want to align with your practice’s product strategy

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 Small adjustments are expected—full customization is not required.
{% endhint %}

***

### In-Office vs Shipped Products

For each product, you can decide how it is fulfilled:

***

#### In-Office

* Product is sold directly during the visit
* Requires inventory in your practice

***

#### Shipped to Patient

* Product is fulfilled through the platform
* Delivered directly to the patient

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 This allows you to control both your inventory and fulfillment strategy.
{% endhint %}

***

### Important: Inventory Visibility for Shipped Products

When selecting shipped products, you’ll see a **live inventory status**, such as:

* In stock
* Low stock
* Out of stock

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 Always review inventory status before assigning shipped products.
{% endhint %}

***

### What Happens If a Product Is Out of Stock?

If a selected shipped product becomes unavailable during a consult:

* The system will automatically replace it
* The next best available product will be selected
* The routine will update in real time

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 This ensures the patient can always complete their purchase.
{% endhint %}

***

### Customization & Flexibility

***

#### Can I Change My Assigned Products?

Yes - assignments can be updated at any time.

***

#### Can I Use My Own Brands?

*Coming soon* - under the Elite plan, you can add your own products.

***

**Important Notes:**

* Custom products must be sold **in-office only**
* They are not eligible for shipped fulfillment

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 This allows you to incorporate your existing inventory into the system.
{% endhint %}

***

### Best Practices

***

#### Review strategically

You do not need to rebuild your assignments from scratch.

The best approach is to:

* review the default assignments
* update only the indications where you want a different preferred product
* leave the remaining assignments unchanged

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 Skin Type PRO is designed to work out of the box with optimized default selections.
{% endhint %}

***

#### Align with your sales strategy

When making changes, consider how you want the product to be fulfilled:

* choose **in-office** for products you want to provide directly during the visit
* choose **shipped** for products you want delivered to the patient

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 This supports a hybrid sales model without overcomplicating setup.
{% endhint %}

***

#### Review inventory for shipped products

Before assigning a shipped product, check the live inventory status:

* In stock
* Low stock
* Out of stock

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 Product availability can impact the patient’s ability to purchase in the moment.
{% endhint %}

***

#### Make targeted adjustments

Update assignments when there is a clear reason to do so, such as:

* brand preference
* in-office inventory strategy
* practice-specific product preferences

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 The most successful providers make selective changes—not full replacements.
{% endhint %}

***

### Keep in Mind

* Default assignments are already optimized across the available indication options
* Before assigning a shipped product, review its live inventory status
* Custom products added under the Elite plan can only be sold in-office
* If an assigned shipped product is out of stock during a consult, the routine will automatically update to the next available product

***

### Why Assigning Products Matters

Assigning products allows you to:

* Control what gets recommended
* Align with your preferred brands
* Manage inventory and fulfillment strategy
* Ensure consistent patient experiences

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 This is where your clinical recommendations align with your business model.
{% endhint %}

***

### The Takeaway

You’re not building routines—you’re selecting the system that builds them.

***

#### The Winning Approach

* Start with default assignments
* Make targeted adjustments
* Align with your in-office and shipped strategy
* Let the system generate consistent routines

***

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 The right setup leads to better outcomes and higher revenue.
{% endhint %}
